Congressman Andy Kim, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senator from New Jersey, did a campaign visit to Lakewood on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Assemblyman Avi Schnall, a fellow democrat, and other community activists, they visited Beth Medrash Govoha, Chemed, Hatzolah of Central Jersey headquarters, and other locations.
The roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha penned a scathing letter strongly protesting those who brought politicians to the yeshiva.
“We hereby protest, with all our strength, the chillul Hashem and disgrace to the honor of Torah and the honor of those who learn is, as several people, without the consent of the hanhalah of the yeshiva, brought politicians to the holy yeshivah, utilizing the yeshiva, a makom Torah, as a place for these people to campaign for their political interests," the letter states.
After the letter was disseminated, Avi Schnall explained that anytime a politician visited Beth Medrash Govoha it was a regular visit and not a campaign stop - as that is a disgrace to the honor of Torah.

Avi's "explanation" is as worthy as the rest of the hot air politicians espouse
I don't understand, the letter is from 2021, not from this election??

That is exactly the point of the article - to point out the hypocrisy in that the "desecration of the Torah" condemnation letters were only signed against candidates not endorsed by the establishment. Somehow there is no "desecration of the Torah" when the endorsed candidates are the ones doing the campaign visits.
