PROMISES MADE, PROMISES NOT KEPT: AVI SCHNALL FAILS ON HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISE REGARDING VOTING FOR THE LGBTQ AGENDA

All throughout his election campaign, Assemblyman Avi Schnall confidently and cheerfully assured us that the democrat party doesn't need and doesn't expect him to vote for their toieva agenda.

Promises made, promises not kept.

Governor Phil Murphy this week signed into law A3446/S2421, known as the Freedom to Read Act, which prevents arbitrary book banning and protects the rights of students, parents, and communities to have free access to age-appropriate books and learning materials at schools and public libraries.

Under the law, boards of education and governing boards of public libraries are barred from excluding books because of the origin, background, or views of the material or of its authors. Further, boards of education and governing boards of public libraries are prevented from censoring library material based on a disagreement with a viewpoint, idea, or concept, or solely because an individual finds certain content offensive.

The Freedom to Read Act also provides protections for library staff members against civil and criminal lawsuits related to complying with this law.

What does all this fancy talk mean?

LGBTQIA groups explained as follows:

“Public and school libraries have come under attack by a small number of individuals hoping to erase diverse materials from bookshelves, usually targeting works focused on race and LGBTQ+ themes. Today, New Jersey stands firmly in defense of the freedom to read and the importance of inclusive educational spaces,” said Senator Andrew Zwicker.

“This law ensures all communities, including immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of color, can see themselves in literature, safeguarding an honest account of our shared history for generations to come," said SWEEP NJ Founder Rosalie M. Wong and Director of Advocacy and Organizing Louise Walpin.

“FAB is honored to be present at the signing ceremony of the Freedom to Read Bill. In particular, during this period of time where the transgender and gender-nonconforming population is fighting for basic human rights, the access to books representing the community is an essential first step to this end. We look forward to working with legislators to keep making strides for our community’s future,” said Denise Rachel Troy, Friends and Allies of Babs Siperstein (FAB).

"Following a year in which there were more challenges & bans than ever on record & even more devastatingly, attacks on our queer community & trans kids, the Freedom to Read Act will ensure that LGBTQIA+ youth see themselves reflected back in the pages of books, feel safe in our sacred libraries, & ensure that they can read freely to allow themselves to live openly. Representation matters & access is essential,” said Robt Martin Seda-Schreiber, Chief Activist of the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice.

Assemblymen Avi Schnall and Gary Schaer, our two yarmulke-clad representatives chose to "not vote" on the bill. The democrats voted "yes," and the Republicans (who we were directed not to support in the last election) strongly voted "no." Unfortunately, our two yarmulke-clad representatives didn't have the willpower to vote "no."

Promises made, promises not kept.

Oh well. At least we have free tuition.

Or not.

He promised to not vote on this and he didn't vote on this.
FAA, you do good work, but there's nothing here in this "story."

Avi knew that he was never going to deliver on his promises. It was only payback to show that the VAAD is boss, and they used the innocent people of Lakewood as Pawns in their game of politics in the Deep state to vote to support the Toieva, which is against the Torah.

Chota umachtah es harabim!!

Shame on these despicable elitist that are Lakewood's swamp creatures who call themselves Lakewood's askonim!

Exactly what Rabbi Kalisch warned would happen... Oy, how the proud and haughty simply don't learn!

What's the issue here?
He said he wouldn't vote on these issues and the Dems were okay with that.
On this vote, he didn't vote. So why all the hysteria? What are we missing?

Avi is garabge.

He didn't vote no, no backbone.
The 2 kippahs could have been 2 votes more that the left had to overcome. If they tell us to vote on election day because each vote counts amongst a million voters, why suddenly voting 2 votes amongst the 80 voters would not mean anything significant?

Famous extremely powerful NYS Assemblyman who was an Agudah patsy (or was it the other way around, Agudah was his patsy) provided millions to Agudah interests till he was finally caught, was heavily active in opposing yeshiva tuition tax credits (teachers were big donors) and gay rights (I don't think he had a personal interest, just Demoncratic Party values).

Agudah tolerated canluse he brought in the money, but he always didn't vote yea or nay on gay rights issues, as long as it will pass anyway

He never promised to vote no. He may have a good reason for abstaining. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, it's not only a Mitzva in the Torah, it's we want other's to judge us as well.

The person he pushed out of office always voted no. After we start practicing hakaras hatov again, as the VAAD use to preach that we must show it, we can have that discussion.

Avi really shouldn't get reelected again, for the benefit of the klal.

According to the law, Abstaing is an automatic vote for the majority, Therefore Ave and Gary voted for LGBT legislation, all with the Haskomah from the Moetzes.

Lately, many people wondered out loud, what would Klal Yisroel look like if Agudah and their Moetzes close up shop?

We all know the answer. That's why there were so few people at the Agudah annual convention. They only need enough people to cover the expenses of all the freebies that attend.
