LAKEWOOD IN SHAMBLES: FAILED LEADERSHIP TURNS TOWN INTO A DANGEROUS EMBARRASSMENT

Lakewood has become a disgrace. What should be a thriving Torah community is now an unlivable, chaotic mess—a direct result of the utter failure of those in charge. The streets are a war zone, the infrastructure is collapsing, and the leadership has abandoned its basic responsibilities. This is not just an inconvenience; it’s a catastrophic Chillul Hashem that shames every resident of this town.

A COMPLETE FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP

Lakewood’s public officials have failed at the most basic task: keeping the town functional and its residents safe. Every aspect of the town’s management reeks of incompetence. Broken roads, traffic congestion, reckless driving, and utter lawlessness dominate every corner. Instead of addressing the town’s rapid growth with foresight and planning, officials have allowed it to spiral into a nightmare.

Where is the traffic control? Why are roads left in disrepair? Why has no one addressed the dangerous behavior of pedestrians and drivers alike? The answer is clear: because the people in charge simply don’t care.

CHAOS AND DANGER EVERYWHERE

Lakewood’s streets have become a public safety hazard. Bochurim recklessly hitch rides by darting into traffic, putting their lives—and the lives of drivers—in danger. Drivers treat the roads like a lawless raceway, ignoring basic safety and endangering everyone. Pedestrians wander into traffic as if the streets belong to them. Visitors to Lakewood, instead of seeing a community of Torah values, see a town in total disarray, where danger and dysfunction reign.

This is not a community that values life and order—it’s a disgraceful mess that embarrasses everyone who calls Lakewood home.

A SHAMEFUL CHILLUL HASHEM

The state of Lakewood is not just dangerous; it is a glaring Chillul Hashem. The town, which should be a proud example of Torah living, instead broadcasts chaos, carelessness, and a complete lack of respect for others. Public officials have failed not only the residents of Lakewood but also the very values this community claims to represent.

A DEMAND FOR ACCOUNTABILITY

Enough is enough. The people of Lakewood must hold their leaders accountable for this disaster. Immediate action is required to reverse the damage caused by years of neglect:

1. Enforce the Law: Reckless drivers and pedestrians must face real consequences. Without enforcement, the chaos will continue.

2. Fix the Infrastructure: The roads are a disgrace. Widen them, improve traffic flow, and add safe pedestrian crossings before more lives are lost.

3. Educate the Community: A public campaign to promote safe driving and pedestrian behavior is overdue. The current lawlessness cannot continue.

4. Replace Inept Leadership: If those in power cannot or will not act, they must be replaced with leaders who take their responsibilities seriously.

A FINAL WARNING

Lakewood is on the brink of disaster. The current state of affairs is a בושה וחרפה—a source of shame for the community and a danger to everyone who lives here. If this mess continues, it won’t just harm the town’s reputation; it will cost lives.

Public officials have failed. The question now is whether the people of Lakewood will stand up and demand better. The time for excuses is over. Either fix this town or step aside for someone who will.

Lakewood is better than this—or at least, it should be. Right now, it’s a disgrace. The world is watching, and it’s past time to clean up the mess.

FAA unleashed!!

Kudos to FAA for the past couple of days being on fire! We need viable candidates who can articulate this message. We also need a campaign with vast community outreach since most media is controlled by the VAAD. That is the only way this town can turn around.

I totally agree. The township approved building office building along Ave of the States with no regard for the residents and the traffic that it causes. Shame on you Lakewood Township officials. You take care of the developers and stab in the back the residents of your town. Enough is enough

Greed by investors and officials caused the downfall of Lakewood. Disgraceful. Now that Lakewood is destroyed moving on to adjacent towns to do same. Lakewood can't be turned around -- it's too late.

FAA is definitely running some sort of private agenda driven campaign here just like the other scam news sites in this town. Lets see you post 1 positive article about some of the people in leadership what they do to help people in messy situations every single day! Without naming anyone we all know how some of the people in power will do anything to help another yid (doesn't mean the town is being run well) but let's see FAA post 1 positive article (spoiler - they won't, because FAA doesn't really care about the people in this town)

If you want a positive, fluffy kitten saved from the sewer story feel free to go elsewhere. If you want to know what is actually happening in this town without the usual fluff and nepotism then feel free to come back here. For the first time in a long time someone is finally putting out in the open what is really going on without bias. If you have ever attended any of the board meetings in Lakewood you would know what is being printed here is true. Recently my neighbors and I came out in large numbers to a planning board meeting to speak against a completely flawed application for a local school. We even provided the ordinance numbers that the board didn’t even take a look at to verify what we were saying. Yet as they attempted to ignore the ordinance’s and we spoke up to ask how they could vote on the application when it clearly was contrary to what the ordinance stated, we were told it’s too late and they’re voting. The new board member was mute the entire time and when coaxed to actually say something by the other members, came up with a “fix” that showed absolutely why he should not be sitting up there and making any decisions for our town. Thank you FAA for speaking truth when others are too scared to. Zman.

I don't understand so many people agree that Lakewood needs to drain the swamp yet when it comes to election the swamp always wins big time. When will this end we need to stop letting all the garbage men run our town.
