NEW ADMORIM CROWNED IN LAKEWOOD



Lakewood has just received two new Admorim.


Following the recent petirah of Rebbe Chai Yitzchok Twersky Zt"l, the previous Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Boro Park, his son Rav Duvid Moshe Twersky has been appointed as the new Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Boro Park.


Additionally, Rav Yisachar Dov (Berel) Twersky Shlit"a, who has served for the last number of years as Rav of the Rachmastrivka shul at 610 East County Line Road, has now been crowned as the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Lakewood.


The Rebbe of Lakewood is currently sitting shivah in Boro Park, and will conduct his first Tish as Rebbe this coming Shabbos.


A younger son, Rav Menachem Nochum Twersky was also just crowned the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of the Oak and Vine neighborhood. The Rebbe's kehilla is currently constructing a large shul on Vine Avenue.


The Rebbe will conduct his first Tish as Rebbe this coming Shabbos at his current shul at 736 Vine Avenue.


Hundreds of chasidim are expected to come for Shabbos to Lakewood to be with the Admorim.


The new Admorim join the list of Admorim in Lakewood, Rabbi Avraham Baruch Rottenberg, the Kosson Rebbe, moved to Lakewood and established his kehilla in the Oak and Vine neighborhood; Rav Lazer Hager Shlit"a, Viznitz Monsey Rebbe of Lakewood, will hold court in the South Pointe neighborhood under construction at the former Flea Market; Rav Yaakov Yosef Twersky Shlit"a was officially crowned as the Toldos Mordechai Viznitz Rebbe of Lakewood; additionally, after the petirah of Rav Yisroel Avrohom Portugal Zt"l, the previous Skulener Rebbe, his youngest son Rav Hersh Noach Portugal Shlit"a who served as the Rav of the Skulen shul of Lakewood and learned in Bais Medrash Govoha, was crowned the new Skulener Rebbe of Lakewood.


Rachmastrivka is one of the larger chassidish groups, with close relationships and no tension between the Admorim.


Rav Chai Yitzchok was the son of Rav Yochanan (1903–1982), who was son-in-law of Rebbe Yaakov Yosef Twersky (1899–1968) of Skver.


Rav Chai Yitzchok's brother Rav Yisroel Mordechai (1929–2004) was the previous Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Jerusalem.


Rav Yisroel Mordechai's oldest son, Rav Duvid, is the current Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Jerusalem.


Rav Yisroel Mordechai's second son, Rav Nachman Yosef is a Lubavitcher chasid, lives in Crown Heights and is a veteran hanholah member at the Oholei Torah Mesivta and a renowned lecturer on topics of Chinuch and Shalom Bayis.
