The cost of living in New Jersey has increased by $22,750 since Democrat Governor Phil Murphy Murphy took office, according to the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. At the same time, the average household income has only risen $8,000.
For the past two years, the average New Jersey family has been considered low-income. A family earning less than $94,650 is low-income, and the state median income is $89,700.
Before Murphy took over, low-income was $71,900 and the median income was $81,700.
Poverty has increased from 9.2% to 10.2% under one-party Democrat control.
At the same, Murphy and the Democrat Legislature have raised taxes by nearly $18 billion.
The cost of living in New Jersey is 13% higher than the national average. Housing is 31% higher than the national average, while utilities are 8% higher. When it comes to basic necessities such as food and clothing, groceries are around 4% higher than in the rest of the country, while clothing costs 4% higher.
Republicans have offered a structural, long-term solution to the school funding and property tax crisis.
The “Fully Funding Schools and Cutting Property Taxes Act” (A5253) would increase state aid to adequacy for every school district, and tying that aid to lowering property tax levies. The average property tax cut in the first year is estimated to be $804 per homeowner and tenant. Each year property taxes would be lowered further as school funding from the state increases.

Where is the money coming from? Our state taxes will just go up. Does anyone know where I can read and have explained to me the school funding formula? I know Tom's River and Brick got together and took the state to court for the formula. They won but then no one understood the formula. Last I knew it was back in court to have it explained. Was that ever finished?
