FRIDAY: VETERANS DAY - GOVERNMENT OFFICES ARE CLOSED





This Friday, November 10 will coincide with the observance of Veterans Day 2023.


Veterans Day began in 1926, founded as an annual day to honor and remember men and women who served in the U.S. military.


Veterans Day is a state and federal holiday.


Township offices will be closed. In Lakewood,.there will be no bulk pickup this week.


All New Jersey state offices, including courts and Motor Vehicle Commission offices will be closed.


United States Postal Service offices will be closed. There will be no mail delivered.


However, FedEx and UPS will still be making certain deliveries. UPS stores will also remain open.


The vast majority of banks will be closed.


All major retail stores and most malls and shopping centers should be open.


NJ Transit will observe the Veterans Day holiday. Riders should use NJ Transit’s online trip planner to double-check arrival and departure times.


PATH will operate on a weekday schedule, and SEPTA will operate on a normal schedule.


The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq trading is open. However, bond markets will be closed.


The next federal holiday is Thanksgiving Day on November 24.
