Lakewood's Center for Health, Education, Medicine, and Dentistry, also known as CHEMED, has just settled a $250,000 lawsuit which alleges malpractice by their doctors, FAA News has learned.
The lawsuit was filed by Ana Kenia Lezama, the minor child of Reyna Lezama.
According to the complaint filed on January 9, 2023 by Hackensack Attorney James DeNorscia Esq.:
In August 2017, Ana began treatment for an upset stomach and nausea.
Ana came under the care of Dr. Jamie Kawelblum in August 2017, under the care of Dr. Isabel Rosenblum in October 2019, under the care of Ekata Rushti, P.A. in August 2021, and under the care of Leah Shaffren, P.A. in November 2021.
All of these staff, "negligently failed to provide reasonable and proper medical care... and as result, Ana became sick, sore, lame and disabled, enduring severe and permanent pain and suffering, disability and impairment, - more specifically, she has suffered renal failure and End-stage Renal Disease - has incurred and will continue to incur medical expenses, and will in the future be deprived of the use and enjoyment of the holistic values of life."
CHEMED has just settled the lawsuit for $250,000.

If they settled for 250K the case could not have been that strong, and likely Chemed did nothing wrong.
