All in a day's work!

On Thursday night, May 13, 2021, Lakewood resident Lipni Cotto was speeding on Cedar Bridge Avenue near Melville Avenue in Lakewood.

As a result of his high rate of speed, and weaving in and out of other traffic, his front tire popped, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and hit the curb. Half of the vehicle went off the roadway, and ultimately it struck a utility pole and a yellow street sign.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front of the vehicle and passenger front and rear tires, resulting in front airbag deployment.

The vehicle was towed away.

Cotto was arrested for drunk driving and driving while suspended. As he did not produce any insurance, he also received a summons for driving without insurance.

As he did not have any insurance to cover the damages, JCP&L is now suing him to collect the $26,601.75 in damages to their utility pole.

Their complaint was filed in New Jersey Superior Court by Philadelphia Attorney Cameron Deane Esq.
