JACKSON COUNCIL TO GIVE THEMSELVES 400% SALARY INCREASE

At their next meeting this Tuesday night, the Jackson Township Council is set to give themselves, and some of their friends, some pretty decent salary increases, FAA News has learned.

In 2023, Council members earned $8,668. The Council President earned $9,668.

The Council - which is now led by a new president and vice president, and is now boosted with Mordy Burnstein - is now set to increase their salaries to $32,000, and $35,000 for President Jennifer Kuhn.

This is a nearly 400% increase.

The Council will also be giving several other generous salary increases.

In 2023, Mayor Mike Reina earned $42,724.80. The Council is now set to increase this salary to $65,000.

In 2023, Business Administrator Terrence Wall earned $204,141. The Council is now set to increase this salary to $212,162.64

In 2023, Township Clerk Mary Moss earned $101,400. The Council is now set to increase this salary to $105,456.

At their previous meeting, Councilman Mordy Burnstein stated that he had just taken a tour of the Township offices and he was satisfied that the taxpayers are "getting what they pay for."

Although the Council meeting is open to public participation, these salary increases are expected to be approved as part of a consent agenda, which means that the public will only be able to speak up after the increases are already approved.
