Research has concluded that in general, people want journalism to be fair, balanced, accurate, and complete.
A recent report by Lakewood Alerts seems to be to the contrary.
LA's article is captioned: Lakewood Approves New Ordinance Aimed At Managing Rapid Local Development
The article states:
As Lakewood’s population continues to expand, the need for more schools has become increasingly urgent. Schools are currently permitted in most zoning districts within the township, but the ad-hoc construction of educational facilities has begun to strain infrastructure, especially with respect to traffic flow. The new School Overlay Zone is intended to address these challenges by facilitating orderly development in designated areas, ensuring that schools, homes for staff and students, and infrastructure such as roadways and utilities are built in a coordinated fashion....
The goal is to support the construction of schools and dormitories, while also allowing for limited residential development for staff and administrative personnel.
To the contrary, as fairly, balanced, accurately and completely report here on FAA News here, the Ordinance will permit dormitories and 65 feet high residential apartment buildings on a portion of Cross Street and adjoining roads where they are currently not permitted.
Quite a far cry from the "limited residential development" touted by LA, which did not bother to disclose that the ordinance does not contain a maximum density for residential apartments.
Further, the Ordinance also reduces the required minimum pavement width from 32 feet to 30 feet. Quite odd for what is being touted as "a solution to the current ad-hoc construction of educational facilities has begun to strain infrastructure, especially with respect to traffic flow."
Even more egregiously, as fairly, balanced, accurately and completely report here on FAA News, numerous members of the public submitted questions and concerns via email to the Township Committee seeking clarification as to what roadway improvements were proposed, exactly how many apartments would be permitted in the 65 feet high buildings, and why the minimum pavement width was being reduced.
Shockingly, Mayor Coles responded "this Ordinance does not change at all what uses are permitted in the zone. All this Ordinance does is lay out requirements for all developers in this area to share the costs of the infrastructure."
The LA report fails to disclose Mayor Coles' shocking misrepresentation.

This isn’t the first time LA screwed up his “reporting”. Whichever amateur does the writing there, clearly doesn’t know how to read a plain language ordinance. That’s why when people want the facts, they avoid visiting that misinforming website.
Not a shocker. When I comment on that site or the scoop about something that doesn’t go along with their view, it doesn’t get published. Recently the scoop had a article on Jeremy Kuipers (code enforcement construction) visiting some new buildings grand opening to which I replied that it would be better if he would be shutting down the illegal simcha hall at Bnos Yaakov on Kent Rd. After the first time they didn’t print it I resubmitted it two more times and nothing. I’m not sure if it’s true or not but a neighbor who is influential in the community told me that both sites were run by the same person behind the scenes. I tend to believe him because they pretty much run the same stories.
I still have a hard time understanding the Banquet halls in the school system. So stupid and yet its OK for Lakewood to have them.Where our kids play,Where our kids learn,Where our kids are suppose to be safe and cared for.
