JACKSON TOWNSHIP FACING LEGAL ACTION AFTER MINOR GIRL IS INJURED AT THE SPRAY PARK



A Lakewood family has slammed the Jackson Township with a personal injury lawsuit following an injury to their minor daughter which occurred at Jackson Spray Park.


According to the complaint filed in New Jersey Superior Court in Ocean County by West New York Attorney Alyx Lewis, Esq.:


On July 25, 2023, the minor girl was playing in the spray water within the Jackson Spray Park. The water in park was turned on. As she walked to her mother, within the grassy area of the park parallel to the spray area, she was caused to trip and fall in a hole/defect caused by excess water due to improper drainage within the park.


The child was caused to suffer and sustain severe, permanent and disabling injuries and scars, pain and suffering, has been and will in the future be caused to obtain medical treatment and incur medical expenses, and has been and will in the future be caused to refrain from her normal pursuits, activities and occupations.


The collision and resulting injuries to the child were caused solely by the negligence of the Township without any negligence of the child contributing thereto.


The suit demands judgment against Defendant, Jackson Township – New Jersey, for compensatory damages, together with interest, costs of suit and such other relief as the Court deems just and appropriate.


The Township has 35 days to answer the complaint.
