IAN GOLDMAN SUES LAKEWOOD SHUL OVER SLIP AND FALL IN SIMCHA HALL

Attorney Ian M. Goldman Esq. (who also serves as the Lakewood Municipal Prosecutor) has just served Imrai Kohain Congregation a civil lawsuit over a slip and fall in their simcha hall.

According to the complaint filed in New Jersey Superior Court in Ocean County by Jackson Attorney Ian M. Goldman:

Plaintiff is a resident of Lakewood.

Imrai Kohain Congregation Inc is a house of worship and catering hall located at 185 Miller Road, in Lakewood.

Plaintiff slipped and fell down on or about Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the basement/catering hall section of Imrai Kohain Congregation.

The flooring in the catering hall is not slip resistant and sacrifices safety in favor of a shiny bright clean look.

Plaintiff was lawfully on Defendant’s premises attending a Bar-Mitzvah and slipped and fell on the shiny, slick, high gloss flooring.

The shul is negligent in that they failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition, did not exercise proper care, allowed a dangerous condition to exist, failed to provide proper safeguards, failed to post warnings and were otherwise negligent in the maintenance of the premises. As a result of the aforesaid negligence, Plaintiff suffered severe and permanent bodily injuries for which he has obtained medical treatment and which caused him great pain and suffering, incapacitated him from pursuing usual activities and left him with permanent disabilities that will in the future similarly incapacitate him, cause him pain and suffering and require medical attention and has caused him to accumulate medical expenses.

The complaint also names as a plaintiff the wife who "as a result of the wrongful and negligent acts of the Defendant, [was] caused to suffer, and will continue to suffer in the future, loss of consortium, loss of society, affection, assistance, and conjugal fellowship, all to the detriment of their marital relationship."

The suit demands judgment for damages and for such sums as would reasonably and properly compensate him in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, together with interest and court costs.

Imrai Kohain Congregation has 35 days to answer the complaint.

Guess Ian's advertising was ineffective so he switched from divorce attorney to accidents and when that didn't work he " slipped and fell" . He should have a complete recovery from all his troubles.

Disgusting that our own Township prosecutor & fire department attorney is involved in suing Lakewood shuls with trip and falls against a local shul. Now the shul's insurance will go up courtesy of the Lakewood prosecutor.

Since when do plaintiffs serve lawsuits? Based on reading this site I was under the impression they are only allowed to slam them.
