Rep. Josh Gottheimer - whose democratic campaign for governor is endorsed by leaders of the establishment community - has established a firm pro-abortion rights voting record in Congress, opposing state-level restrictions and supporting the codification of Roe v. Wade into federal law.
He voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would override state laws restricting abortion access, and has repeatedly spoken out against court rulings that allow individual states to limit or ban abortion.
“Women should be able to make their own health care decisions without interference from politicians,” Gottheimer said after voting for the bill. “I’ll keep fighting to protect reproductive rights.”
Gottheimer has received endorsements from Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America for his positions.
Primary Election Day is this Tuesday, June 10.
