JUST IN: LAKEWOOD ZONING BOARD DENIES 28 TOWNHOMES NEAR BELZ CITING INSUFFICIENT PARKING PLANS

On Monday night, the Lakewood Township Zoning Board of Adjustment overwhelmingly denied an application for a 28-unit townhome cul-de-sac development off Locust Street.

The application, ZB No. 4341, sought a use of density variance to permit 12 townhomes per acre where a maximum of 8 are permitted. The proposal further sought numerous bulk variances and design waivers.

The Board frowned on the relief sought due to depiction of some finished basements in the layout plans and architectural plans and only minimal parking and insufficient room for deliveries, as well as curbside pickup of trash and recyclable containers.

Public records obtained by FAA News indicate that the new owners, 300 Route 70 LLC, purchased the property for $7.7 million.

As previously reported here on FAA News, the site is adjacent to property where Yanky Lipshitz has figured out how to obtain approvals for 118 families with no provisions for a shul or playground.
