A FAA NEWS INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: IS THE JACKSON TOWNSHIP COUNCIL AGAIN SELLING US A BUNCH OF BALONEY JUST TO GET YOUR VOTES?

During last year's election season, Jackson Township Councilman Mordy Burnstein heavily touted his heroic "vote to stop 1,200 homes from getting built at Adventure Crossing."

As revealed here on FAA News, shortly after elections were over with Mordy Burnstein securing reelection by a mere 200 votes, then-Council President Jennifer Kuhn admitted live on camera that Adventure Crossing submitted their plans for 1,200 residential units prior to the Council's bold introduction of their "anti over-development" ordinance, and therefore their plan for 1,200 residential units is "protected."

Despite this concession after last year's election season, during the current ongoing election season, the Council is again shamelessly touting their "vote to stop 1,200 homes from getting built at Adventure Crossing."

That alone is quite shameless.

What is absolutely outrageous is that it appears the Council has now voted on first reading to repeal their "heroic vote to stop 1,200 homes from getting built at Adventure Crossing."

But here is the icing on the cake: the Council is conveniently holding off from voting on final reading.... until after election day!

How absolutely slick is that??

Jackson Township's Highway Commercial Mixed-Use Zone (HCMU) zone includes those areas generally located on the south side of County Route 537 between the Interstate 195 corridor and the Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

The original ordinance 244-57.2 permitted residential uses other than detached single-family dwellings with the "maximum number of dwelling units is four units per gross acre, including affordable units."

Last year's "heroic vote" modified this to permit "four units per acre dedicated to residential use."

The Council has now voted on first reading to again modify this zone to permit as follows: "The maximum number of dwelling units, including affordable units, is four units per net acre dedicated to residential use."

So corrupt! Jackson is huge, why would they need to squeeze in more houses and allow for attached houses?

Check their campaign contributors and you'll probably find the answer as to who they are truly working for. Sounds like a pay for play scheme.

Great article. Thank you
Jackson ZB has illegally approved 450 adventure crossing housing units 2 months ago. They heard and approved the application even though the applicant had not paid about 220k of its 2024 taxes.
