OCEAN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS STRONGLY CONDEMN HAMAS ATTACKS IN ISRAEL AND ALL ANTI-SEMITISM THAT HAS SUBSEQUENTLY RESULTED HERE

FIRST REPORT

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners - an all Republican board - today took a strong stance condemning not only the Hamas attacks in Israel, but also all anti-semitic attacks which have been occurring here as well as a result of the Hamas attacks in Israel, FAA News has learned.

The Commissioners firmly called out Hamas as "an organization designated by the United States as a foreign terrorist organization."

The Commissioners also noted that "Ocean County is home to a large and productive Jewish population, many of whom are first to provide a helping hand during difficult times at home."

"The Ocean County Board of Commissioners embraces the rich relationship it has with the Jewish community and stands with them and the numerous organizations representing them in complete solidarity with their Israeli brethren, in response to the attacks from Hamas.

"The Board stands in support of our Ally Israel and its right to defend itself.

"The Board denounces the horrific attacks that occurred in Israel and adds its voice to the ongoing support given to Israel, pledging its deep commitment to Israel and the local Jewish community, and reaffirming the values and connections that bind us together," the Board stated today.

Importantly, the Republican Board also unequivocally condemned the escalation of anti-semitic attacks which have occurred across the world, including locally, as a result of the Hamas attacks.

"Furthermore, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners condemns any and all antisemitism that has escalated as a result of these attacks and calls upon everyone to look for a peaceful outcome," the Board stated.

The Lakewood Township Committee remains silent on the matter.
