LAKEWOOD MUA INCREASES SEWER & WATER CONNECTION FEES

On Wednesday morning, the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority (LTMUA), which provides sewer and water to the eastern portion of the Township, approved increases to their sewer and water connection fees.

Connection fees are charged to all new construction for the right to connect directly or indirectly to the Authority's sewer and water systems.

The increases are dependent on the usage of the unit.

Sewer connection fees

Single Family, Multiple Family and Multiple Family Retirement Dwelling Units - $2,023.00 per unit. ($118.00 increase)

Boarding House, Lodging, Hotel, Motel, Nursing Home and Life Care Establishment - $1,011.50 per unit and if at a future date these facilities be expanded, there will be an additional charge of $1,011.50 per each additional unit. ($58.90 increase)

Commercial, Industrial and all other - $2,023.00 per EDU. An EDU is defined as the average sewer demand for a typical residential dwelling unit that has been calculated to be 209 gallons per day. If at a future date the structure or flow from the facility is expanded, there will be an additional charge of $2,023.00 per EDU for the increased flow from the expansion. ($118.00 increase)

Qualified non-profit organization - $505.75 per EDU. A qualified entity is a non-profit organization that owns and operates: A) a house of worship for holding religious services and housing for clergy who officiate at said house of worship, or B) a private school for either classroom space or administrative office space.
