The Jackson Township Zoning Board held their annual Re-organization of officers on Wednesday night.
The Board unanimously reappointed Lynne Bradley as Chair.
The Board also appointed Greg Stafford-Smith Sr. to the Vice Chair position. This position was previous vacant.
Stafford-Smith previously held the Secretary position. The Board unanimously appointed Shira Parnes to the Secretary position.
Parnes previously held the Acting Secretary position. The Board unanimously appointed Robert Hudak to fill the Acting Secretary position. Mr. Hudak did not previously hold an officer position.
The Board also reappointed Elizabeth Ramroop as Recording Secretary.
The rest of the Board includes Moshe Heiman, Dr. Sheldon Hofstein, and Chrystabel Rosal.
Dawn D’Agostino is the Zoning Board Clerk.
In January the Board also a separate Re-organization of their professionals which include their attorney, engineer and traffic engineer.
Stafford-smith has been involved in Lakewood politics for many years and he has served, for many years, on a number of boards in Lakewood, including the Industrial Commission, Housing Authority, and Utilities Advisory Committee.
Stafford-smith now lives in Jackson and he has been vocal at numerous Town Hall meetings regarding land use development in the Township. This likely lead to his initial appointment to the Zoning Board.
In his day job he is the managing partner of Welcome Home Investments.
In March 2023, the Council first appointed Stafford-smith Sr. to the Board to fill the unexpired term ending June 30, 2023 of Joseph Riccardi. When this 3 month term expired, the Council reappointed Mr. Staffordsmith for another one year term to expire June 30, 2024.
As previously reported here on FAA News, in January 2024, after having served on the Board for just 6 months, Stafford-smith led the Board in attempting to oust their professionals. This attempt ultimately did not come to fruition.
Back in July 2023, the Board had two vacancies. The Council (which was then led by former Council President Stephen Chisholm and his co-hort Martin Flemming) attempted to appoint Robert Hudak to fill one of the vacancies. Council members Jennifer Kuhn and Scott Sargent blocked this move until in August 2023, the Council also appointed Shira Parnes to fill the second vacancy. This was the first frum member to be appointed to this board.
In January 2024, the new Council appointed Moshe Heiman - the Board's second frum resident - to fill Raymond Lovacco's vacated seat. This appointment was for an alternate member position.
Just weeks ago, the Council reappointed Heiman to another 4-year term on the Board.
