The Lakewood Township Zoning Board of Adjustment is set this coming Monday night, September 8, 2025 to again consider an application for development on Prospect Street.
As previously reported here on FAA News, back in October 2023, the Planning Board approved plans for a 139,358 sq foot multi-unit warehouse and office building at the 6.38 acres site at 1501 Prospect Street, the existing Cambridge Pavers site.
Subsequently, the developer attempted to switch tracks and submitted Appeal ZB No. 4325 to the Zoning Board seeking to construct up to 66 duplex homes plus 66 basement apartments at this site.
As previously reported here on FAA News, back in March 2025, neighbors of the proposal - represented by Attorneys Joseph Michelini and Ryan Murphy Esq. - successfully got the Board to deny the application.
The developer is now returning under ZB 4367 for a mixed-use development of up to 34 duplex units, up to 14 single family homes, a recreational area, a Shul and retail space.
The mixed use development proposal seeks use variance approval.
Should the board grant this variance request, the applicant will return to the board with an application for subdivision and site plan approval.
The Board's public hearing will take place at the Municipal Building, 231 Third Street, on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 7:00pm.
