Rabbi Avi Schnall and his supporters have been flip flopping as to who initiated his campaign for Assembly.
As previously reported here on FAA News, a letter signed by Rabbonim makes it clear that Rabbi Schnall "decided on his own" to run for office.
However, subsequently, his campaign slogans have changed.
Recently, Rabbi Yitzchok Sorotzkin, Rosh Yeshiva of Telz and Mesivta of Lakewood, stated that in fact, the Moetzes directed Rabbi Schnall to run.
Rabbi Noson Shmuel Leiter called Rabbi David Zwiebel, Executive Vice President of Agudath Israel of America, and asked him to clarify and confirm whether or not the Moetzes actually directed Rabbi Schnall to run.
As can be heard in the audio recording below, Rabbi Zwiebel refused to confirm such a thing and abruptly ended the phone call.

Pardon my ignorance; Who is rabbi leiter?
Avi is now at tow hall. Entered the voting room. Told ppl thank you. Said he can’t electioneer. But then told ppl that ‘the opposition is sending out an advertisement using his phone number. It’s crazy. He’s getting a lot of calls.’ Is this electioneering?
I’m impressed with Rabbi Zwiebel for handling this phone call with class. Who does this Rabbi Lieter think he is to put him on the spot like that, especially when he is recording the call with the intention to spread it on the web?

That's a great attempt to deflect from the concerning situation here!
Rabbi Zweibel is the best.
Ehrlich with class.
Either way, the answer is abundantly clear.
These are Lakewood Kids. Their language is Despicable. Their behavior is Despicable. I don't know the background of this story and I don't know who they are attacking. But their behavior is disgusting beyond words and lakewood should be ashamed of them. I hope their parents see the videos and hear how they talk.
